I’m just trying to figure out how to function in this chaos
Where everything seems to be going wrong,
Where there is no sight,
Where birds have no song
As birch trees fall
And the wind rages,
It almost feels like we are in cages
Cages that have no way out
And no one will hear you scream and shout
As you attempt to stay afloat this rocky boat
But look ahead, there is the key
The key to set you from your cages free
All you have to do is sit
And take a breath once in a while
Where you will not be interrupted from ghastly dire
Where things seem to be going somewhat right,
When you can find rest to sleep at night,
Where your vision is restored like the new dawn,
And all the birds rejoice in eternal song
Then you will learn how to function in this chaos.

I love how you developed the idea of being trapped through the imagery of a cage. Although we may feel trapped with no escape, there is always a way through with positive thinking and reflection. This is very well written!

I love how the poem navigates the feeling of being stuck in the chaos and being overwhelmed but then transitions to looking forward and finding your way out of feeling lost and being able to escape the chaos. So good!
