A Love Poem
If we were in a movie maybe we’d actually be in love, but we’re not.
The stars would align perfectly under my sunroof if we were in a movie
A movie setting would be perfect for this love story.
A rom-com, set around Christmas with snowflakes aligning perfectly on your nose
This is just a dream, far from a movie.
I have so much love to give
As much love as there is for newborn puppies, a flower blooming, and a perfect cupcake
My love overflows, like the oceans around us
That love is just not matched on your side.
Fight like hell, not weak to make you notice me
Scream from the rooftops, not whimper in the basement
Turn the volume all the way up, not even conversation level
I want you to notice me.
For now, I guess just sit here, writing this poem, with you on my mind
Hopefully you never see this.
Or maybe I want you to.
