There ain’t no sky today.
The air is thick as the hazy overcast grows,
carrying the scent of the shriveling world—
but nobody stops to notice, no one cares.
As factories release more toxic fumes,
oceans choke on our man-made plastics,
forests burn, ice caps bleed,
leaving starving animals in search of refuge.
Yet they tell us everything is fine.
Greed consumes their minds,
our leaders turn a deaf ear to nature’s cries,
clinging to their own selfish success,
instead of caring for the lungs of the earth.
There is no sky today—nor tomorrow.
Only dread of what’s to come.
As we walk with our heads down,
pretending we are not the problem.

I really like how you went for the poem format for this snippet. I think it conveys the message in a direct way which I like and fits the seriousness of the theme. Also, the message resonates heavily with me. Great job!

I like this, it seems mysterious but also sounds like a situation that would be in the world today.
