No Puffs of Fluffy Clouds in the Sky
There ain’t no sky today.
No heavenly blue tapestry above,
No puffs of fluffy clouds with uplifting shapes to embrace,
No signs of eagles or birds way up high,
Not even a hint of the bright yellow sun in the sky.
Rather the heavens are filled with chalky gloom,
Filled with enough white to make you feel like you’re on the moon.
You can’t see the clouds blended in with the misty sky.
You can hear the planes and helicopters ahead,
But you cannot watch in awe as they soar across the sky.
Yet you know that this all will pass—
After all, bad weather cannot always last.
Soon you will hear the birds chirping and gliding outside.
Your face will be kissed with the glistening sunshine coming through your window.
You won’t feel like a wilted flower any longer,
Since there is a heavenly blue tapestry looking down at you from above.

I like how the end of your poem was positive and how you connected the vivid imagery throughout your work. I thought that this line was very powerful, “Yet you know that this all will pass—After all, bad weather cannot always last.”

I like how you change the poem’s tone throughout, going from a downtrodden mood in the first stanza to a relaxed and hopeful one by the third. It captures the realization that nothing is permanent and time is always moving, meaning that the moment will always pass no matter how dark it may look.
