Even with all the lock down on activity in New York City, there’s still enough people on the street to be able to grab a street snippet here and there. I was walking west on 16th Street, headed away from Union Square when I saw two old-timers talking to each other on the sidewalk. Nothing new about that. But the conversation they were having seemed to have reached a peak as I walked by.
“It’s not like it used to be… you can’t mess around anymore.” I almost laughed out loud. Every generation feels the same way as it starts to age… it certainly isn’t like it used to be.
There’s your story line for the month. Place yourself in their position. What are they talking about? What would YOU be talking about if I passed you on the street and heard your conversation? What isn’t like it used to be?
